Marc Posted April 28, 2012 Report Share Posted April 28, 2012 OK guys, so I have gotten the semi-bad news out of the way. Now for the good news. What will we gain from the new forum software? The honest answer is a hell of a lot. We are currently running on the software with the least features supprisingly. We are moving to the software which has the most by far. They are also the biggest in terms of customer base, which means there are far more 3rd party coders out there who provide addons for the core forum system. That is actually one of the main reasons we are moving. So bare in mind these will not come all at once, but over time you are likely to see things like the following: Customisable profiles Easier status updating Customisable latest posts list on top of board per user Arcade comments, leaderboards and more Activity tracking Forum multiplayer role play games Awards Post of the month nominations Attach once, use everywhere functionality Mobile compatibility improvements Automated forum quizes Article system for showing how the forum works to newer members Shoutbox improvements Subscriber albums Tagging league table And we will NOT lose Chat bar Forum runner Tapatalk Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Scenarios time: Its just after camp and you post a picture of me falling over after a load of beers. 6 month go by Next camp is now about and people are asking what its like. SO you think "Gotta post that pic up of Marc fallin over". So we have a situation where you need that very same picture again. HOW ITS CURRENTLY DONE Go to search Type in the name of the topic (if you can remember it) Obviously it wasnt called that. Search again with some other words Still cant find it. Who was the topic posted by? I'll look through their started topics. Still cant find it OK, so I can have a look through posts I've done and trawl back 6 month through them to find it FOUND IT .... Copy it to your computer Go back to the topic you wanted to post it into Upload the photo now to the new topic Post it and everyone has a paugh HOW IT WILL BE DONE IN FUTURE Click on the attachments library in the post Select the image you posted in the old topic which you can see in there Click to attach to post See the advantage?
