Mazz
Zoya's leg was swollen and uncomfortable last night. Got her settled and put an ice pack on her leg for two twenty minute sessions. Seemed to ease the swelling. This morning, the swelling is down. Not to normal, but noticeably better. A little weeping last night, but far less than the night before. Staples are holding well thus far. Huskies in the Heartland

Mazz
Is the swelling normal then? aw Zoya fingers crossed for ya x Swelling is normal following this type of surgery. Just want to keep it from getting too advanced because it is uncomfortable and puts stress on the incision. Huskies in the Heartland

Mazz
Well, aside from the 14" of new snow that Zoya now has to navigate through, she's doing pretty good. The swelling in her leg is all but gone. The incision looks very good this morning. She has been touching her toes a bit since yesterday, and this morning, she was limping a wee bit on her right rear leg. She has another therapy session this afternoon. Austinville
Hugs to you, Sally, Eisa, Rohn and of course Zoya. Must be difficult to have a new baby brother and not be able to put him in his place. All of our best wishes and love are being sent to you. Zoya - Petunia will enjoy the snow for you and tell you all about her snowy escapades during Iowa Camp this fall.
Mazz
Zoya continues to improve. She is using her leg more each day. This afternoon, she went down the stairs to the family room, something she has not done since her surgery. I went down to carry her up, and before I could get close enough to pick her up, she flew up the stairs. Her incision looks like it has healed vey nicely. She goes back for laser therapy on Tuesday, and the vet is going to check to see if the staples can come out, and decide if continued therapy is in order. I am very pleased with her progress. But it remains important that we limit her activity, as she is not fully healed as of yet. Tomorrow is two weeks post op.

Mazz
Zoya got the staples removed today! Vet was amazed at how well she has progressed. He felt she was a good week to ten days ahead of where he would have thought she would be. Two more therapy sessions; one this week and one next week, and then we start some short walks to begin building her muscle tone back up.
