  1. I’ve had experience in this. Overnight I never crated my dogs even as puppies. They slept in bed with me and I’d let them out if they woke up. When I’m gone they would be crated.
  2. Welcome! I’ve been here since 2012. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I’ve been through it all. Had an epileptic husky that passed away in 2021. A rescue that I had to say goodbye to in March 2023 and currently have a 12 year old boy and a 6 month old puppy.

    Meet Denali

He’s getting so big! When I got him he was a little over 3 mos old and 17lbs. Now he’s just turned 5 mos old and 31 lbs!
  4. Hello all, I haven’t been on here in forever but thought I would give everyone an update. I’ve been a member since I got my first husky in 2012. After the loss of two of my three huskies over the last two years I have made the decision to adopt a new puppy! He came from the same rescue organization as Kodiak (who passed away in March). Meet Denali! He’s about 3-4 months old so I’m working on potty and crate training. I’ve forgotten how tough it is!!
  5. This morning I had to say goodbye to Kodiak. I rescued him in April 2013 at about 3-4 years old. He was an amazing dog and he will truly be missed. Run free big red.
  6. I am especially grateful for Marc and Sarah for starting this forum. Without them I don’t know what I would have done. 11 years ago I brought home an ornery stubborn and hyper husky puppy…my first dog. And goggled the many questions I had. And I came across this forum. And I’m so glad I did. I probably would have rehomed the monster I had if not for the support of you and everyone on this forum. And I treasure all the friendships I have gained from it. I’ve also suffered a traumatic loss of Yukon and you were all here. Marc and Sarah I’m truly heartbroken to hear about Kimba. I just know all the dogs we have lost are playing free of pain over the rainbow bridge. My thoughts are with you. ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks everyone it’s still hard but I know he’s free of pain. But I miss him so much

    Yukon

Hi all. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on the forum. I have some sad news. Yukon passed away peacefully at home tonight. He recently was diagnosed with liver cancer and he went downhill fast. Made the hard decision that it was time to let him go. He will be missed and I can’t believe it’s real.
  9. I stopped using the Purina Neurocare because I noticed no difference, and they charged $45 for an 11lb bag, and stopped giving rebates. I am still using the CBD biscuits and Yukon's seizures are less frequent and less severe. He still has them but its more that he drools and stares into space for a half hour rather than the grand mal ones that he used to have weekly.
  10. A lot of huskies have a very high prey drive, and that small puppy might have seemed to be prey. I am always careful of small dogs around one of mine, Kodiak because I am afraid something like that could happen. I know that had to be very traumatic for all involved, but that little pup should not have been unleashed. I think training would be a good idea, not only for this situation but in general. It will help you know what to do as well in different situations.
  11. Congrats to Koda! The husky of the month for December 2018! @Rachael_Astro
