Injured Kaiser :(

Recommended Posts

I went to my mum and dads today with my dads fathers day presents and my boys were running around in the back garden.

I've noticed that Kasier has a war wound - it looks like Kimba has caught him with his teeth - my poor boy :( :(

Do you have EMT Gel available in the UK? It's sold in farm supply and horse tack stores here in the States. Works for small animals like dogs as well. It helps protect a wound from infection and will stop bleeding. A one ounce tube runs around $13 here in the US. It is expensive, but works wonders. Our breeder recommended we keep a tube on hand, just incase.

thanks for that Dave, added to rep.

I don't think this is available in the UK but am sure that there is a similar alternative, I will have a look around the net and see what I can find :)

Quick question - what's the shelf life on something like this?

awwww poor baby Kaiser!! HUsky hugs and kisses from everyone here :)

I dont think we can get EMT here in the uk but I found these which may help (some of them are presecription only):

http://www.petmeds.co.uk/p-115-dermisol-cream.aspx

http://www.petmeds.co.uk/p-3463-irriclens.aspx

http://www.petmeds.co.uk/p-3612-multiderm-wound-heal-spray.aspx

As there are a few to choose from I would maybe consider getting some professional advise first on which one is best if you are looking at using these :) Hope Kaiser is ok and heals soon, sometime if my boys end up in a scrap we may find the odd cut here and there but as long as its kept clean they heel fast and well :)

Self life? That's a good question. I did not see anything on their Web site. I'll look at the tube when I get home after work and see if it has an expiration date.

considering the way they go at each other i'm surprised it's the first time this has happened lol

dont jynx it!!! Marley and Bandit had scrap earlier (over nothing, they just suddenly went for each other with no warning!) and Marley had a wounds similar to Kaisers in about the same place too (scary, eh?)

I could not find an expiration date on the packaging, nor any information on their Web site about shelf life.
