DamirNYK
We bought a new harness for Kira, and a new leash, a running leash. Today was a beautiful day to really try them out The harness has Kira's name and my phone number sewn into, although I hope no-one will ever need it, but it's a nice feature to have. You can see it better here in this sleeping pic, the number is on the other side As it was a beautiful day, we did some running, at first with the leash... and later some without the leash, but only cos it's a safe, familiar area, so there's no serious danger of her running off ... and some posturing 1st me with Kira and of course my two beautiful girls together
DamirNYK
Kira had a rough couple of months so to see her smile is currently the biggest joy of my life. More about it here () My warrior princes with her war marks on legs (had to be shaved to take blood) And a few pics taken the day before her struggles began. Now when I look at it, she was so brave not to show her pain until she really couldn't handle it anymore
Chula
Poor baby, you can almost see in her eyes that she doesn't seem to feel very good.

DamirNYK
It's been a long summer for Kira and us, lots of trips to the vet, lots of medications taken, lots of restrictions. It was hard to not be able to go on walks... Most of our "going outs" were merely going into the backyard for her to do her business, but at least there was lots of fruit that she loves so she had that going for her ... which was nice If anything good came out of it is that it bonded us even more together, and made her even more cuddly than ever And as the summer approached it's end so did Kira's health became better and better, she still has some issues with one of her nails, but that is getting better too (since we couldn't walk her properly her nails got to big and one broke and it's hurting her. Ladies and their nails ) In September there was a dog show near us so we took her there (as visitors). We weren't too sure how was she gonna react being in that environment, she's never been among that much dogs at one place since she came from the shelter. At first she was a bit scared and confused, but quickly relaxed and we all really enjoyed the day. And last weekend, for the first time since March, we went on a longer walk, about a 2 hour walk (half hour was max all this time), I don't even have to say she loved it, and what's even better there were no consequences after it, when we got home she was still fresh, nothing hurt her, hopefully it'll stay this way. Great thing about Kira is that after all this turmoil and everything she's been through, she still happily jumps in the car, no matter how many times it took her to the vets, she knows it was all for her own good. DamirNYK
We were busy today, while I was changing the tires on my car, Kira had a whole different work in mind, she went to compost and did a little digging cos we all know those rotted apples are the best... When I caught her she acted like it wasn't her. But then realized how dirty she was and tried to roll in wet grass to clean herself. It didn't work and she wasn't impressed anymore that I'm taking pictures of her. Oh, and as for her health, it seems ok now, we're giving her some meds that should help her joints get stronger and being extra careful not to let her run so we can give those ligaments time to heal properly, fingers crossed that it will work. DamirNYK
Lately Kira, who is usually really quiet, started to be really vocal, I don't know if it's the cold and snow that's making her happier or the fact that she feels a lot better than she was this whole year. Here's a video of her talking with my fiancee, I love it how she gets all exited when in a conversation like this

DamirNYK
Yesterday we went for our first big hike after a loooong long time. There was an annual hikers gathering at my favorite mountain, which is very close to us. Kira loved the snow, we didn't have much of yet this winter, so the joy of running through it was even bigger. Of course, she was always on alert for any deer, rabbit, and other wild animals track (there's reportedly wolves and bears in these mountains, but we haven't seen any of their tracks) So naturally she was sticking her nose into every track we went by And at the top, there was lots of people that came by all kind of ways, most by foot or cars, some on ski's, one even with a bicycle, but Kira was most impressed with the horses 4 people rode on. It was so cool when she noticed them, started howling like crazy, talking to them like they're old friends. Unfortunately, it seems the whole walk was still a bit too much for Kira's legs, which are still far from being completely healthy. When we were going home, she didn't walk as haply, seemed really tired so we went a bit slower with more rest stops, and when we got home she couldn't wait to lay down and rest. This morning was a lot better already, but still having a hard time walking, hopefully it'll get better when she rests some more and is nothing more than muscle soreness. We tried to prepare her with some longer walks past few weeks, which she went through perfectly, but guess this was still a bit too soon. Hope she'll recover after a few days rest. Lots of love from Kira and Marina, as you can see in the back, it wasn't an easy hike for humans either

DamirNYK
This weekend we were at Croatian first "Quick paws" event for pulling and other sports breeds. We've met with HO's famous Search and Rescue husky Balto . He and Kira had a lot to talk about, here's only a short video of it. Will post more pictures when they get available. Until then here's a video of their conversation. And a link to a facebook page of the event where you can see the pictures https://www.facebook.com/events/1605446969670620/ And the group of the club (in translation it would be "Club of sports and pulling dogs Zagreb") https://www.facebook.com/pages/Klub-sportskih-i-zapre%C5%BEnih-pasa-Zagreb/165214570343560 Proud Kira with her medal (everyone got them for participating
DamirNYK
A couple more pictures from the "Quick paws" event Unfortunately, Kira's health took a strong turn from not good to worse , I don't want to ruin this topic with it so I'm gonna write about it somewhere else. But, not to worry, meds are helping and keeping her tail wagging and mouth smiling
