So some of the more eagle eye'd among you may have noticed that I have a new ticker on my signature.. I finally have my new fur baby boy and Nukka finally has a big brother! His name is Shadow and SHWA gave him to us on Sunday, he is 13 months old and is an absolute gem of a pooch! Apparently hes had no training in his previous home so I can only atribute his angel like behaviour to his very lovely temperement and the brilliant work done with him by Layla the lovely lady who fostered him. So please join me in welcoming Shadow to our family, may he live a long and happy life with us... Within 2 hours of being with us... Our Sha…

Hello everyone at Husky Owners I just wanted to introduce myself and my baby Ice to everyone, as it has taken us a lot to get here! We were introduced here by a fellow member, and wanted to say hi I lost Ice for 3 weeks and I have only just got him back, thanks to all the support that I gained from my facebook page and also from people on here being on the look out for him. It has been a roller coster ride for us, as he was taken from my back garden in Bournemouth on the 10th May and was found by the council roaming around an army barracks in Farnham (2 countys away) they were not aware that he was missing so he was in the pound in Fleet for a furt…

Hello to those who follow and read the forums. I have been following many of the forums lately, researching for what is good and bad for my new puppy. This site has helped significantly, and by reading all the suggestions and comments from others, it has encouraged me to join and become a member. The name of my new "designer breed" puppy is Hachi-Kun, named after the characteristics of the Akita in the movie Hachiko. Hachi is a 15 week old Siberian Maltsky (1/4 Maltese & 3/4 Husky). He is very intelligent puppy. By 9 weeks, he has learned more then 10 different tricks, from the basic sit, down and stay, to shake, wave, and "bang" (playing dead). He is also very social…

After alot of waiting around, we finally have brought Luna home She and her sister were no longer able to live with their owners as they had to move house and weren't aloud to have pets at the new place. So they were given to a friend to look after until they figured out what to do. Unfortunately, the owners weren't able to convince the real estate and so sadly they had to say goodbye. We found out about them through a friend of a friend who knew i was looking for another husky and after 2 looooong weeks of waiting to see what would happen to them, we took both girls home with us. We were able to find a home for Bella almost immediately with a friend. As much …

Hey guys, just thought I'd find a site that is more oriented towards the breed I like so much. My name is Shane, I am 21, I work a part time job, and I do a lot of behavior/dog training for people. I have four Huskies who I take on a 5 mile run/walk every morning, and a German Shepherd who I am training in personal protection work. Just thought I'd do somewhat of an introduction of myself before I started posting pictures or commenting in different threads.

Hey everyone, hope all is well . I forgot to do an intro thread. My names Cassandra/cassie/cass/whatever, i'm 21 and from Australia. I live at home still and am the last kid in the house haha, so it's a little weird. But hey, more room for my little zoo huh! I currently have the one Husky, Honey, she's around 6 years old and was originally my sisters dog. Honey had the misfortune of ending up in a pet shop and being impulse bought by my sister. Well honey was a little bit of a terror and my sister is not an animal person in any way shape or form! So honey ended up with me after a month or so with my sister. She turned out to be a lovely little excite…

Hi Everyone I wanted to introduce myself as am new to the board. My name is Tanya and I'm 27 and live in Southend, Essex. My partner and I have recently (last Saturday) rehomed two dogs, one of which is a 1 year old Siberian Husky called Rio and the other is a 2 year old West Highland Terrier called Max They have been rehomed as their previous owners were leaving them on average 11-13 hours a day and only taking them out for walks 2/3 times a week (!) and decided that this was unfair and put them up for rehoming. We got them on Saturday and so far they have settled in really well. On reflection I think they may have also rehomed because o…

Hi, I saw a reference to the site in the Oxford Mail the other night (mother in law saved it for us), as we've just rehomed a Husky called Mickey from the Blue Cross. He's 11 months old, and I'm rapidly getting fit trying to keep him exercised! Tonight I think we'll try him with a bike, so he can get a bit more of a run, than if we just go out on our feet.... We've had a few tribulations with him so far - he didn't like getting in the car, he liked digging in the garden, he's claimed the sofa for himself, and he doesn't like letting us out of the front door - we've fixed the car thing now (which is just as well, as I was going to end up with a bad ba…

Hello everyone! Lexy is mine and Mike's (and Matt and Tom - our boys (men?)) 4 year old most beautiful husky girl in the world!!! She is to us LOL. We met some members at the Oxford husky meet yesterday in the very hot sun and had a nice walk around Shotover - somewhere we had meant to walk and hadn't got around to. Have been looking at the lovely photos and think I may have used one of Andy's as an avatar - not sure how to upload yet so was easier - hope that's ok. Everybody was really nice and welcoming. Lexy was completely overwhelmed to meet such a big pack of huskies. By the way - I am the person in the pink t shirt (now going back to black which di…

Hello!I'm a newbie from Winnipeg, Canada. We are the owners of a beauiful 6 year old Siberian/Malamute cross. We love our puppy and are frustrated beyond measure with the situation. She is not eating the antibiotics for the infection in her leg.It battle of wills. Guess who is winning! She has decided not to eat anything now. She spit up the Pill Pockets we tried. The vet says HER dog loves them! I ground all of them up in a mortar and pestle and put them in the bottom of her bowl with a little people food and her regular dry food but she just sniffs it suspiciously and leaves it. Unfortunately she is now refusing he…

I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Lori and my puppy, Rocky (as in 'Rocky Raccoon' because of his goggles). He's almost 5 months old and 40lbs. We were told "malamute mix" and that one parent was full blooded malamute. Doesn't mean much.. I know. We've had him since 8 weeks and he's sable/agouti (my guess). Definitely has the coat and his tail is filling out and lifting. His ears were up, but then he started teething so they change day to day. We're from north east Ohio and I've gotten A LOT of "looks just like a husky." I've been browsing your forum and I would love to chat with other husky/mal owners. Here's some pictures 8 weeks.. …

Hello Again....I joined this forum about a year ago when I finally got a husky. His name is Geno and we had a discussion about his more Arctic like coat. Well Geno is about 14 months now, and about 2 months ago I picked up his sister from his parents second litter. Her name is Mila and she looks to also have the same type of coat, which im very happy about because Geno is a stunning looking dog. She just turned 14 weeks and is a hand full like all Sibe pups. She looks almost exactly the same as Geno except some small things and different eye color, which I like as well. I plan to be a lot more involved on the forum now that I have some real husky experience to go with yea…

Hello all, Jager and myself are new to the site. I am jay and the boy is Jager (hunter in german) We live in Brighton (GB). Jager is 6 months old now and i have had him for 2 months. He is not a full husky he is half malamute but i tend to tell people he is a husky because not many people have heard of a mal. Jager is the most awesome dog with such a good manner and temp, we have the best relationship already. He walks so well on his lead and great off it. I let him off the lead all the time and he never goes far and always comes back as soon as i call. The only thing we really need to work on is leaving him on his own wich he …

Well, it's time I stopped by to say hi to the old coot, and show support! Seeing as I was around 2-3 years with the guy. Heh, not really sure what to say since I don't own a husky. I'm 18, a Junior in high school, love video games... and uh, I guess you can ask me anything you want.
