Bec Posted January 21, 2009 Report Share Posted January 21, 2009 No I can't give blood due to health reasons, but I do have to get blood taken regularly (every few months) and I hate it! I am terrified of needles. The worst one was when they had to take more than 4 vials of blood for testing, felt quite woozey after that! But i haven't donated yet, i keep meaning to find out if i can (i had a virus when i was younger, which made(!) me disabled not sure if i can or not) But i used to have it 3 times a year, and then when pregnant all the time, and i must have been the only person saying thank you to the person taking my blood! siberian_wolf Posted January 22, 2009 Report Share Posted January 22, 2009 I used to give blood about 3 times a year but I don't go anymore as I kept passing out and being ill for a few days after giving blood so my Dr thought I was annemic but that was fine. One day when I did it, I was on the bed for ages and then thew up blood, so I don't go anymore. And Jamie didn't like me doing it either. My dad does it but my mum can't for some reason, not sure why, but she has a rare blood type so she says if she could she would. How rude that they woun't let you take your baby in. TalaKai Posted January 24, 2009 Report Share Posted January 24, 2009 I give blood , I have O rhesus Negative which is apparently rare and can be given to anybody in an emergency if there is no time to find out there bllood group , so mine is used a lot in SCBU ( special care baby units ) . laura_3173 Posted January 26, 2009 Report Share Posted January 26, 2009 I have given blood once i am not that rare i am A pos i love giving blood though the fact that i could have saved someones life gives you all the satisfaction you need! although the last time i gave blood i was a fainter lol i had to lie on the bed with my feet in the air and have a cold compress on my head lol i felt so sick omg i just wanted to come home and curl up but they wouldn't let me! Antony says that i am not allowed to give blood again because he doesn't want that to happen again but thats what he thinks i will walk there if i have to! I am also down on the donor register to donate my healthy organs when i am dead hey i have no use for them and if i can save 1 persons life that is better than none!! Be honest Richard does getting a tattoo hurt i have heard so many stories i just want to know the truth so i know what i am getting myself in for!!
