Kami Posted November 6, 2015 Report Share Posted November 6, 2015 Hello everyone, I have adopted this beautiful mix breed girl pictured below from a local shelter almost 2 years ago now. When I adopted her, I asked if they know anything more about her owners, where they found her, etc. but for some reason staff was kinda secretive and simply said they don't know anything which was kinda weird. Anyways, when I adopted her, her estimated age was around 9 months. As far as her dimensions go, she is around 26-27kg and about the size of a female husky. I was curious what kind of breeds are mixed in her. Based on her outside appearance and behavior, I assumed there is probably some German shepherd, Husky, Doberman and Labrador mixed in her. A while ago I finally decided to get the DNA test done and the results said she is a Husky, German Shepherd and Bernese Mountain Dog. I know the results are not necessary fully accurate, but it showed that her, great grandparents are both pure breeds which increases the likelihood that results are accurate. Anyways, I think those results are quite plausible and explain a lot of her behavior / traits: - She has tons of energy. She would play all the time. She also loves to run and play tug wars / catch prey (birds, cats). I assume that's probably coming from the GSD / Husky side. - She is very cuddly, she constantly begs me to pet her. She also loves people and other animals - she is always very excited and friendly when new people / dogs are around. I assumed some of those traits come from Labrador, but now that I got tests back, it's likely that they come from Bernese since tests didn't identify any Labrador markers / genes. - She loves to do Husky "Siberian swirl" Without further ado, here are some pictures.
