usually a rabbit or 2 and the odd occasional deer

They do a lot of pouncing in the undergrowth but have yet to get anywhere close to catching anything. We have heard from another walker that there are sometimes deer but we have not seen any so far. Are there any critters to watch out for?

  • 3 weeks later...

After Meekas dramatic 2 week spay surgery recovery ( which she had to be wrapped/constant cone on 24/7 and on 1 painkiller and 2 sedatives every 4 hours to keep her from getting to her sutras...)

we took on a nice long walk and into waterfalls/traintracks etc... :)

Needless to say, she was VERY happy :)

well as it is so hot today, we had to take them somewhere with lots of water so we went to desborough island

Which part of Desborough Island? We have taken a drive down to the rugby fields but didn't fancy letting them run around there. Is there some other way to access the good bits?

we go all over. you can park by the red arrow. the yellow is rabbit hot spots. the top left corner is a nice place to picnic

Thanks! The top right did seem to be all rugby-ish which might not be the best place for the furries to play. I knew there was land over to the left but your picture (with annotations!) makes it much clearer. We were only following the roads as we were on the way back from Bedfont Lakes so didn't get out and explore. There did seem to be quite a few cars parked around the corner where you put the red arrow which might explain a few things. The yellow 'bunny hotspots' look rather similar to those found at the lakes (figures!) but our three are not so good at catching them (I'm sure Molly's Mum is glad of this as she is not so keen on the 'squishy' behavioural aspect of a 'prey drive' animal. Biggles' Ollie & Bo (Molly's brothers) would love it by the looks of it
