I know this is asked alot but woah, you don't worry they might run off when they're off-leash? :D I can't let Storm off-leash, truth be told I never have since I got him from the people that used to own him when he was a pup, they'd let him off at the dog park and he'd come back if you showed him treats but the fields I walk him are covered in birds and rabbits :/

when micha was little we used to play hide and seek and reward her every time she found us.

plus my wife has a natural affinity for animals and small children and they love to be around her.

i used to panic about them being off lead but not any more

she does run off to chase rabbits but it is never out of sight. we live in an area where there is lots and lots of open land

Are people really allowed to wander around it? Or do I need to wave my 'Fellow of the Geological Society of London' card around? You know what Health & Safety is like these days...

Horsell Common / bits of the Basingstoke Canal / Chertsey Meads / Virginia Water are / were regulars for us. We used to live in Woking but are now in Addlestone. We will have to check out your other suggestions!

I don't have a facebook account but maybe us and our dogs might meet sometime. We are *trying* to get a meet together at Virginia Water on 20th May, depending on who can make it. There are quite a few meets slightly further north - in the Bucks area - look for recent threads about Black Park / Marlow / Wendover Woods

The only place we have let Molly & Timber off the lead is in a local enclosed part of a larger enclosed park. They could jump the fence if they wanted but we keep them busy so I guess the fence acts as enough of an enclosure. I'll post a video when I can upload it

just recently (within the last few weeks) they have put up proper fences so it is really hard to get in there now so i think it is a no go area now

ok so there is another place we visited recently it is an island in penton hook the co-ordinates are 51.413691,-0.50090 and you park along thames side and cross over the lock then a narrow bridge. it is a small island but my dogs love it .

on the way to the lock

We have only been to two meets so far and saw them as a good chance to socialise with other dogs & owners, and find new areas to walk. We are not very comfortable letting ours off the lead yet but are working on it. There is an enclosed park not far from here where the fence seems to be enough of a deterrent for them not to try jumping it. Looks like we are going to a place that has an off lead area next week near Bedfont with Biggles & her two
