Yours sounds like a good home...Im sure you will find a wonderful husky pup soon. There are so many puppies out there whose owners "rehome them" when they get tired of caring for them. Here in Hawaii we have recently had over 50 pups 9 months and under who's owners are re-selling them because "they have bad habits." Its really sad, but the good news is that there are alot of people like you and me (and half the forum...lol) who are happy to have them!!

Hi, welcome to the pack :D

Try contacting SHWA http://www.shwauk.org.uk/ they may be able to help.

If you get a puppy though don't exercise it too much early on as this can cause quite a bit of damage to their joints and limbs - the general rule of thumb is 5 mins exercise per month of age, so a 6 month old pup would need around 30 mins per day :)

Hope you find a pup - they are so loving.

Oh and good luck for next week.......do you know what you're having?

Hi, Ben & Rachel, welcome to the pack

Where are you based, Ben? If in the UK, as Sarah has posted, try Siberian Husky Welfare Association (SHWA) or SHCGB (Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain), who will match you with an appropriate husky for your family & lifestyle. If in another country, post up where as we have members from all over the world, I'm sure someone could point you in the right direction! :D

Hello Ben and Family, welcome to the pack :D

Congratulations to you and your wife expecting a baby, you muast be so excited!

There are plenty of huskies out there waiting for a loving home. We have a rehoming section here where we have seen a husky looking for a home or someone has contacted us with a husky looking for a home so we will put them on here for everyone :)

You can try the Battersea Dogs Home too, they may have some huskies aswell.

Can I just ask why you are only looking for young one and not an older one? Im just wondering because there are many sibes that are older looking for a home aswell and some of them are likely to have come from families and would be great with children. If you was to go for a rescue/rehome, they should tell you if the dog would be suitable for families or not and as long as you let them know that you have a baby on the way then they would know to only let you know about huskies that are already 'socialised' with children.

Another advantage going for an older one (Say around 2 years or older) is you wont have the troublesome teen stage where they will really challenge you as a pack leader! The only thing you will miss is the sweet puppy stage but I think an adult dog which has already been kept around children of all ages would be another avenue for you to look into :)

Best of luck with your search keep us updated how you go
