Emma
My 5 month old puppy 'Bear' is a rather odd colour. I've been googling images for the last 2 months and have so far come up with 'dirty faced agouti' or 'tri coloured'. We rescued her when she was 12 weeks old, when my husband was driving home from work and the van in front of him threw her out! Battersea checked her out and said she was a husky and definately NOT a German Shephard cross. Her undercoat is a thick wooly cream colour. Her guard hairs are a mixture of black/cream and cream/black/cream. Her underneath is entirely black and white patterned. Hope this helps, any info shared would be greatly appreciated! Thanks x
Arooroomom
Most definitely would consider that Agouti.

Emma
Thank you for your help. These pictures are a few weeks old now, and please exscuse the dust on display in the second picture! Have been trying to get some more recent ones, when we're out at the park but that's proving easier said than done.
Hyshqa
Definately a dirty faced agouti The shape of the face and size of those ears are saying GSD to me, and the overall size and width of those chunky legs are saying mal. Any possibility he could be GSD/husky/Mal? 'Northern Inuits'/'Utonagens' are gaining in popularity from what I hear.

I will have to google utonagens as I haven't heard of that term before. Guess I'll find out for sure as she grows up!
Emma
gorgeous pup - deffo agouti - chunky lil thing maybe some akita ?? Funny you should say that. Battersea Dogs Home did say that although they were sure she wasn't GSD, they thought she may possibly have some Akita in her as her tail curls over into a crescent shape sometimes. Not the full corkscrews on a purebred Akita, just a moon shaped bend!

Emma
I'll try and get some more recent pics of her over the weekend, as she's changing rapidly at the moment and teething like hell! Thanks to everyone who replied, I appreciate it x
natalie
Tyler is similar colours, both his parents are husky's, all the other puppies were different colours of wolf grey and black and white, his dad was a very dark bi eyed wolf grey and mum a black and white. Here he is at 8 weeks And more recent 5 months He's starting to get his fluffy coat , He keeps changing colours from light to dark, people keep asking me if he is a german shepherd:D

'Northern Inuit' and 'Utonagen' both mean the same thing - a Siberian husky x German shepherd dog x Alaskan malamute. Cross breed basically, but those specific breeds There's not actually any way of knowing for sure without a DNA test (unless you were to somehow find the breeders and they were to know the backgrounds of the dogs they bred). Cross breeds can vary in appearance even within the same litter - my Kiska looks more like a GSD than a husky, but one of her brothers doesn't look like he has any GSD in him at all. If someone were to rehome him without knowing his background they would assume he's 100% husky. Basing it on looks is always tricky so you'll probably never know for sure. krzykal
He is gorgeous, he does look like he is crossed with gsd or maybe akita. Our girl zayla is an agouti she has the black tipped tail as well. She was really dark faced as a pup then as she grew up a mask came through. I will try and put some pictures up when i figure out how to lol as i havent been on here for a while.

She's even got the enlarged ruff arounf her neck that these earlier pictures don't have! Thank you for that, it's reassuring to know that there are other dogs like bear out there! Believe me, I'd LOVE to meet the people who were responsible for the breeding and care of Bear. The MET police are also interested in meeting them. Carelessly throwing a puppy from the back of a moving vehicle (with false liscence plates surprise, surprise) into the path of oncoming traffic on a very busy and infamous A road doesn't go down too well with most decent people. Utterly disgusting and needless behaviour.
Emma
Wow, Michelle, those huskies are stunning! I can definately see the similarities in the last one, the bigger ears and colouring patterns, particularly the white/black/tan solid bars on the neck. I was going to say that Bear's not that solid in build, she's quite svelte. Then I realised that the husky in the picture was pregnant! lol
Michelle Melsom
I like to call this the evolution of an agouti huskies coloring Birth 1 week 2 weeks 5 weeks 8 weeks 10 weeks 13 weeks 5 months 7 months and 1 year Crazyness isnt it o.o Agouti comes from racing lines so they usually have a more "athletic" looking build then the average husky alot of them also tend to have shorter hair
Emma
This is zayla as a pup this is zayla again as a pup This is zayla grown up lol This is one of zayla's agouti pups Lovely pictures. Zayla's agouti pup really does have similar colorings. Can't believe i've spent everyday for the last 2 months googling agouti and not finding any that resembled Bear and now i'm surrounded by them. It's Great to feel i'm finally getting some answers, although to be fair to Bear we all love her regardless!

It's quite exciting as you really have no idea what your dog will end up looking like! I have heard online that agouti is typically found in racing lines and that they're quite rare. I've spent ages researching the breed and colour but this website has definately been the most helpful!
Michelle Melsom
Sorry for the picture spam but it might help more heres a darker dirty face agouti (Marius father from pup to adult) Birth 1 week 3 weeks 4 weeks 8 weeks 10 weeks 14 weeks 16 weeks 18 weeks 23 weeks 31 weeks 1 year and 1.5 years You can shee how his coloring went darker and lighter and darker again ( the lighting is different in each pic but the colring still gets lighter and darker) and how much his mask changed ^.^
