Hiya James both Marcs Andy Jos the list goes onnnnnn :D

Looking for the contacts that are saved on my sd card I want to delete it before I back them up again as they are not overwriting and the last time I backed up from there I ended up with the same numbers in phone 4 times mad.gif

So anyone know the file name ( format ) ?

Yep, mine too I have an Android phone running 2.3 Gingerbread

and Mine saves to a .vcf file.

So looks like thats what you are looking for mate :)

Delete/destroy/nuke/anything with a .vcf file tag. :up:

Yes I do come here but don't think I can help you much :P My phone can only backup to simcard.

Do you have an sd-reader in your computer? Can't you put it in there and try to find names that look similar to your contacts?

Yeah tried that with no look, was thinking of formatting it in comp then put it bk in and do it that way but that would have to wait as it will take some messing about :confused:

to find mine, i installed a program called Astro file manager, it has a built in search feature.... searched for .vcf and it came up

if you have already searched like this then, yeh your are prob best off doing what you said and just format it and start again.

1st off good tip @Sparks

I never mentioned a sim card at all Marc on phone all I wanted to know was the file name of a saved contact list and like I said in my OP its on the SD card I have since found out its saved as a business card so when I get time I'll take a look at Astro and see if I can find It :)

I know you can import and export from the sim card @elenamarie but ta anyway :)
