Sqwidge
with the vets? I would do it with a company like Tesco/Argos/More Than etc... especially as the vets sounds a bit weird!

Sqwidge
having a look on their website...now was it your actual vet or the V.E.T.S. thing, the out of hours vets? This is from We hope that you will never have cause to complain about any of our staff, or the standard of care that we provide your pets. However, should you have concerns, please speak initially to the senior member of our nursing team, or the senior veterinary surgeon, at the relevant branch. Most problems should be able to be sorted out at this level. More serious complaints must be addressed, in writing, to the Managing Director. We will then investigate the complaint and respond in writing.
Sqwidge
Oh also, it does say on their site that payment is expected up front...but i would still expect them to think about doing installments when it's such a huge amount of money...i mean if someone said they need to pay in installments for regular check ups i would tell them where to swivel. Sparks
having a look on their website...now was it your actual vet or the V.E.T.S. thing, the out of hours vets? This is from http://www.valleyvets.net Complain to the Managing Director and say that you are mortified this has happened to your beloved pet. Why they do not offer installment payments i will never know, surely they will be getting the payment they should cure the animal and it can go home, WHO has £3,000 just laying around waiting to be paid, i know i don't! You will have to ring them i think to get the managing directors name. If i were your sister, i would go into the vets and say to them you are making a complaint and would like to know if you can speak to the manager, and if the say no, then write the letter. im not sure if it was out of hours i think she went to the out of hours when it happened and then met the vet the next day. i will let my sister know about that you have said and see what she wants to do now thanks for all your help everyone. SABRES DAD
I would seek the advice of a solicitor, everyone is entitled to 1 hours free consoultation with a solicitor. What they have done sounds totally illegal to me, the cannot take away your dog that you took to them voluntarily because you can't afford to pay for some thing that hasn't yet been done!!!! Thats like driving your car to the garage and they saying its guna cost £3000 to repair, you say no ,they say you can't have your car back. Its still your car and they haven't done anything to it. (sorry i'm a mechanic and its the best analagy i could come up with)
Sparks
hi all, we rung the vets to ask what was going on, they said they have taken her to a specialist vets, because the operation needed a specialist because the pup shattered the elbow join and they couldn't do it at their place. they didnt say where they took the pup so we have now come to the point that we are not going to get her back i dont know what my sister is doing about the complaint, or if she is actually going to complain, because once you sign the dog over there is nothing that can be done.
