We also welcomed our husky/malamute mix male (chewbacca) home this year on valentines day. my husband and I missied our dog who (due to someone elses mistake died of poisoning the year before). So, he told me to look around and pick whatever puppy I wanted and knowing how huskies are with children and families I couldnt resist the "pull' of husky love. so instead of chocolate and roses, I got chewy who is now keeping me company while daddy is deployed.
