Hi welcome to the pack!

errr toilet training.... here goes lol

- invest in a crate if you havent done so already, they are a real lifesaver!! the younger the pup when you introduce it to the crate the easier they accept it :)

- keep pup tied to you (with a collar and lead) in the house, this way they are always near you and when they go to pee/poop you can say 'ah ah' and take them out quickly. Also teaches lead manners lol

- Take pup out every 30 minutes at his age, and after he eats, drinks, plays and wakes up, these are common pee times lol

- introduce a command 'go pee' or something, and say it whenever he pees in the right place, give him a treat everytime he does it right. he'll soon pee on command!

- invest in some good oder neutraliser!!

Welcome!!

Well, we are still working with Lakota on this, he is doing much better except for when it rains but usually we just keep a very close eye on him. After he wakes up from naps, it's outside, then give a treat and praise. Also sometimes he won't go unless he gets to walk awhile. I have removed the use of pee pads because it really doesn't make any sense to encourage them to go on the pee pad. To me it would confuse them about be ok or not to go in the house.

It's a work in progress but we are getting better everyday. Good luck to you!!

Welcome to the pack Varg. Sid gave you some great tips on potty training. That's basically how we trained Zoya. Worked great, though there were a few accidents. Main thing is, don't punish when they mess in the wrong place, and praise, praise, praise when they mess in the right place. Huskies learn quick if they see the advantage. Just gotta make sure and make it obvious.
