Hock
I'm guessing 4-6 months? I def plan on getting Kaien neutered when he gets old enough since I dont plan on breeding or anything. Plus from what I hear, it reduces his need to mark.

Hock
I'll prolly just leave it up to the Vets descretion then since they'll be more knowlegable about it. Also, which types of crates does everyone recomend? The metal ones seem like they would be best since they collapse and you can section them in the beginning for the pup and let it grow into it. KERNOWHUSKIES
I go 4 the metal 1s easy to clean n collapse, only downside is when they r sleepin they bang the cage with paws n it wakes me up!
Chewbacca_&_me
Hi, i know most vets used to say we should wait until 6 months to get them "fixed" but I think that has changed in the last few years, as my vet that I go to would have neutered Chewy at 5 months if I would have allowed it. I would just go with whatever age you feel is best for your dog, thats what most people do now.
Sarah
my vet recommended 6 months + for my boys. As for crates - i've got the metal flod down ones but make sure you get the ones with the metal trays in the bottom and not the plastic ones or they chew them
Val (Zebedee)
I can't answer the "fixing" problem, Diesel came already snipped, but I believe it to be 6 months + As for a crate, anything other than a metal one will last about 2 days if you're lucky! A husky will look on a plastic one as a giant chew toy!
utahraptr
Kahtadin's vet recommended 5 to 6 months. He doesnt know yet, but his Christmas present this year is getting neutered. He'll be 6 months old then. I'll hopefully get to set up the appointment tomorrow when he goes in for his checkup.

FireflyUSC
My vet advised that I get Kita spayed at 6 months. She also said that's a great time to do the microchip, if you haven't already, as it is more comfortable for the dog to be under anesthesia. Susanna
Here in Finland it´s quite rare to neutered on so young age as 6-12 months. Many of dog owners wanted to their dogs fully grown up first. Siberian husky increase size and mass until 3 years old. When they are finally full-grown. Example my other husky, Ruska is having a cataract in her both eyes. And cause of that I´ll not use her breeding. But I´m still going to wait several years before I´ll neutered her. Because I want to her personality and physique fully developed first.
Bec
Technically you can desex puppies at 8-10 weeks - rescues here do it all the time and some breeders do too. Most vets recommend around 6 months, I prefer to wait until the dog has matured a bit around 12 months but there's no hard and fast rules when it comes to desexing. Most dogs here would be desexed at six months.
