Mollys_mum
I love Monpurgo's stuff (I have read all of his books) and I watched this as soon as it was available. It's a beautiful piece of work. Please take the time to watch it.
Removed #5
From what little bit I've seen so far, it'll take all of that pack! There's a fierce bit of pride showing in both the boy ( Jeremy Irvine ) and the horse! Spielberg does make a good movie!!

There's a fierce bit of pride showing in both the boy ( Jeremy Irvine ) and the horse! Spielberg does make a good movie!! Yes, he does, Al. That said, this guy Monpurgo (as a writer) is, in my opinion, the real deal where getting youngsters involved in literature are concerned. I'd love to meet him. A great book to read of his is 'Private Peaceful'. I used to teach it to my year 8/9s...but I would always get one of the students to read the lat chapter because it was, well, just too emotional to read out. :cry1:I love this guy, he is sooooooo passionate about what he does, and clever with it. Removed #5
Thanks for the reference, gonna have to check out his books! Spielberg does some really good work, but movies all too often are only a chapter or two of the book!
Elyse
I saw that in the movie theatre. Yes, I cried...but so did most other people so I didn't feel that bad. I would have felt worse if I didn't cry!
