  1. I've always loved your writing. Thank you. Your PM has been replied to. Thanks to the rest of you as well!
  2. Thank you, Val and to everyone else for their kind comments.
  3. Thanks, Dave. Arthritis was getting to be too much. It was time. I knew it on our morning walk. I knew the day was coming for quite a while now so I was prepared as best I could. I'm ok with it. She is in a better place now and I know I did the right thing.
  4. but you are now in a better place. I will never ever forget you and I'll always love you.
  5. That's a great approach, Nix!
  6. Hi Becky! I'm with you. I can't say I've ever talked one into getting one. If anything, I've done all I could to make sure they know it all before making the decision. So far, so good.
  7. Very interesting. The last time I saw the map was when I put myself on there. At the time, there were only a dozen or so members on there. Now........Wow! Spread out all over the place but there are several of us in the New England area not too far from each other. It's possible, I suppose, at some point for something to work out up here. Nice idea, Marc.
  8. Keep us posted, Jonathan. I'm interested in how things go for you when you get them. I can tell you right now, you will have your hands full. Be very ready. It's worth it! Oh, and I've had enough freakin' snow, thanks.
  9. Beautiful, Jonathan. Welcome to the site. It's always cool to see someone else here from my state. I wish you the best of luck with your pups.
  10. Makes sense to me. And I totally agree with you about never letting a husky off lead.
  11. His reply. Note the bolded. Words to live by.
  12. Thanks, Dave. Will do. Much too much life left in her. She will be fine. I'm sure of it.
  13. Hi folks, Happy New Year. I thought I would share what may be a very helpful resource for many here, whether now, or certainly in the future for a lot of you. In November, Sheba was running in the yard when, all of the sudden, a very common problem, especially in older dogs, happened. She damaged a ligament. Our lives changed that very moment, although, not permanently. This website was very very helpful for me: Dog Ligament Injury Warning: The site is very high in the detail department, but it's worth it. I wrote the following to the author of that website: I'm sure this would be useful to others as well. Happy 2011 everybody! Kevin
  14. Thank you all. I must say, I was glad to have found this thread right off the bat. Lee, thanks for starting it. This has been a learning experience. For the record, the nut, who would be my dog, pretty much insisted I run around the yard a short while ago. Um.......no. I think she will be fine in no time. And Lee, I really hope all goes well with Polee.. This is no fun, for sure.
