saying hey from North Carolina

Wow I just skipped right over the introduction area hehe. Well here I am and I guess I'll let you guys know a bit about my pack as well as myself.

I'm Brittany, 24 female. I married my husband Alex on May 17th 2008 and on June 21st 2009 we had our first child, a beautiful baby girl whom we named Azara Ivy Seabrooks.

We live in a small town in NC that is about an hour from everything except the beach or mountains... we always had to be too far away from the good stuff.

My husband and I are starting back in college for our Radiography degrees this semester.

I was inspired to go into radiography due to a friend of mine who's father died of kidney cancer several years ago. It destroyed me to know that on the night of his funeral because of my stupid job I couldn't be there to support her. I never want anyone to have to loose a family member due to something that can be caught thanks to my profession.

We have one male AKC Siberian Husky Maxamus Harley Jones (3 years) whom we acquired from a neighbor and have been able change him from a wild crazy overly hyper husky to a well behaved perfectly content sleeping at the foot of the bed husky. He's actually curled up on the couch right now.

We took him to the vet because we were worried about his weight and knew intestinal worms could cause low weight, we found out he had whip worms as well as heartworms. I'm not going to lie it broke my heart to know that his past owner couldn't even pay $30 a year to keep him from getting heartworms. We cleared up the whip worms and he has already put on about 8 pounds but unfortunantly we have to wait until somewhere around march to get his heartworms taken care of as the treatment cost more than we have until taxes come back.

Once those worms are cleared up he's going directly on meds to keep this from happening EVER again.

Also on a side note, Maxamus (Max) was in fact renamed Pharaoh as his last owner did not interact with him so he did not even respond to his own name and we felt Pharaoh was more fitting due to his regal posture and almost snooty expression along with his eyeliner.

We also have one female AKC Siberian Husky named Svetlana's Frost Bitten Winter, aka Frost. She was born November 11 2009 and has just recently been microchipped due to the fact that she seems to like squirrels just as much as Pharaoh. We purchased Frost from a breeder as to give Pharaoh a playmate and a friend. We would like to breed but only after all genetic testing has been completed to have her OFA and CERF certified.

We would also like to show both dogs, primarily Pharaoh as he seems to be a beautiful example of the breed. We can't really tell with Frost yet as she's only 7 weeks hehe.

Welcome to the Pack! Belated intros are always fun to read. Seems people share more about themselves and their dogs. Glad to have you as a fellow member.
