Removed #5
Okay, I'm tired of beating my head against a brick wall. When I click on Who's online in the chat bar, it nicely shows me everyone on line. When I click on a particular user (as in this picture) it puts that users name on the chat line. No amount of clicking on the users name will open up the chat box. I'm running Win 7 x64 on a home brew computer (M3A / AMDx2 / 4GB RAM / 2.5tb disk) Running Opera 12x64 / IE 9x64 / chrome 20.0.1132 x32 all of them allow me to access the chat function normally. So far, I've uninstalled FF, run ccleaner and cleaned up registry entries, deleted the default directory and reinstalled into an alternative directory - and it does the same thing, I can't get to chat ... Okay, I've also installed WaterFox (( Firefox of an x64 variety )) into it's own directory ... it also will not allow me access to chat. All addons / plugins have either been uninstalled or disabled, and bringing FireFox up in safe mode present the same problem. (( I'm beginning to think it's just a conspiracy since I much prefer Firefox now to the other browsers )) Does anyone have any suggestions, or at least tell me I'm not the only one to whom this is happening!!! //al Edited July 6, 2012 by Al Jones
BlueWolf
I haven't done much with Firefox in a while, but I would like to know if Javascript is erroring somewhere in the background. If you hit ctrl+shift+k, it should bring out the webconsole. Disable the Net and CSS button so you only get messages from JS and Logging. Refresh the page (you should see some bunch of lines appearing) and try to open a chat with someone. Could you copy paste any line that looks like something didn't go right or is given a warning about some kind of thing if it's there? This is what it should look like:

Removed #5
@Marc He knows, we've talked about it a bit. To my knowledge it affects two of us which means it's probably something local to our systems. I've done a complete re-install of FF and something on my system just does not like chat. Nix, what antivirus are you using? I've got ESET here.
Marc
Honestly not sure what to do about this and unsure as to what to suggest.

Which is why I haven't said anything after our initial discussion. It just seems to be something on this machine with FF .... twitch!! BlueWolf
This is the official site of the chatbar. It has an example chatbar with echo bots to talk to. Does their chatbar has the same problem for you two?

This one is me talking to the bot and doing fine This one is as far as I can get on HO ... I can click on @Marc all day long and it never opens up to chat. Sorry, apparently it isn't me .... Next??? Would you like to do a remote and see if you can see it on my system?? Just for the note, when I have both Chrome open, to use for chat, and FF open the notifications about who is loggin on / off come in ONLY on FF. ( Is there a setting for that that I might have set, I don't remember at the moment? ) Edit: and I hope you realize that you're only the second person that I've even considered letting access my system remotely! Gonna have a look see if anyone else has had similar problems on their site and see if there have been any updates first (although last I looked was only about a month ago)
