I hate it when you see on the news that they have put another dog down because it bit a child they never tell you what the child did to the poor dog in the first place!! Sarah Posted December 14, 2008 Report Share Posted December 14, 2008 Something similar happened to a boy think he was about 5 on our street about 4 years ago, it was an akita - she bit into his face and he had to have major surgery, the papers blamed it all on the dog and painted a sob story about the boy - who had also had to have heart surgery when he was younger. The dog was lovely and so soft, what they didn't say was that he had been tormenting the dog for a long time pulling it about and throwing things at it. I do feel sorry for the boy, it must have been so scary and painful but in the same respect, it must have been scary and painful for the dog as well. laura_3173 Posted December 15, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 15, 2008 I know no one thinks about the animals and they have no voice to give their side of things thats why i always wanted to be a vet ever since i was 3years old! Animals can't tell you were it hurts and they are so grateful to you like the story about the lion with a thorn in his foot and the boy took it out and then ended up in a ring getting ready to fight this lion and it turns out to be the lion that he pulled the thorn out of his foot. The lion didn't hurt the boy he just left him alone! Thats the one thing I don't like about Police, they never see the full picture as to why the dog attacked the boy! I agree with Dunc, hopefully they will never find the dog otherwise they will put him down for something that is completely natural - defending himself! GGGGRRRRR!!!!!! Makes me so angry!
