Are any men comiing to the meet up??

Recommended Posts

Maybe an odd q but i noticed Alaska can be very weird around certain men >>> It might be my fault, She lives with three short woman lol >> and didn't meet a huge deel of men when she was a puppy, despite going to puppy classes, friends houses, getting greeted all the time, it seems mainly children and women greet my doggies:confused: And when men bloody do they are way too domminant and dont ask on doggy terms if she wants to be greeted:rolleyes:

Me: 5'5

My older Sis: 5'5

My Mum: 5'7

She loves my sister's boyfriend and he's 6'3

But i know sometimes when certain men go and touch her head she will lower her head and back away, even bark and growl >> she clearly feels threathend >> These men are always over 6' and have deep voices ... i have noticed these men are either a bit over-weird, one of them was the local craky >> but the other guy had a dog and seemed really pleasant, should i trust her that they may be weird?

It happened again today, but then again she ment one of my friends who is male and about 5'9 and her ears went flat back on her head, tail wagging and zoomed towards him and kissed him to death >>>>>

Im so confused is she's a bit unsure of tall men or not ....?

So if any men will be at the meet-up would you mind if i gave you some treats and you petted her and maybe got her used to you?

Alaska doesn't like to be greeting with a pat on the head while their standing up anyway!

She preferes it if you bend down, semi-ignore her with one hand out, when she sniffs you and then you can stroke her under the neck whilst prasing her >>> not a heavy hand on her head lol

There won't be just our group there Tanika, there will be loads of people taking part in Ruby's Ramble so i'd make sure you bring LOADS of treats :)

Good way to get socialised though

OH >> i didn't know it was gonna be a huge group >> omg imagine going up to loads of tall men :

"dont mind giving my dog a treat do ya?" >>> they'll think im a werido!!!!!

lol Alaska betta be grateful...all the things i do eh:rolleyes:

Gosh here was me thinking it was just us and a few men like Marc, Andy and a couple others ... i really dont know why tho lol

Some dogs consider it threatening for a hand to come OVER their heads....Bo never liked that either. He would rather be introduced and then petted under the chin.

Glad to hear it's not alien for dogs not to like be patted on the head by strangers >> Balto loves it so i really didn't know. Some people are soo rude, dont even ask, they just come with their heavy hands and roughly pat your pet, Alaska is not the one to stand there and let it happen either >> she will whoo at this rude person until they go away lool
