Revilo
So we've had a husky in the family for years, she was originally my sisters dog and ended up with my dad due to my sister not being able to look after her. My dad managed well for a while then his health deteriorated and he passed away this year, long story short she's now been with my brother and sister in law since the end of January and generally has been okay (typical rule pushing as she had none towards the end with my dad). We took her to the vets etc and they said she needs spaying and we hoped she'd be calm down. She had a bad experience with a dog as a puppy so hasn't been socialised with them since really due to her unpredictability but she's always been odd with males. Since her spay she's been hyper aggressive to my brother unprovoked and we're unsure what to do? Has anyone got any tips, we don't want to rehome her as she's part of the family but we don't want to consider putting her down due to serious aggression randomly. BingBlaze n Skyla
How long ago was she spayed? Could it be a pain response, might be worth another vet check , id look into a behaviourist aswell , spaying doesn't always calm a dog down and shouldnt be done to try and change behaviour
Revilo
We got her spayed about 2 weeks ago, we got her spayed as multiple vets advised us about pyrometra etc and the risks and we hoped it may calm down the hormones as well. robke
I do believe it is pain response if it is only 2 weeks ago it toke mine about 4 to 6 weeks to get over the pain and be somewhat normal… it did however nothing to her hormones and definitely did not calm her down… but the snapping did stop once she was pain free from the operation…
Revilo
Fingers crossed, as it is totally spontaneous and random that she's snapping etc
