Shadow is a fixed male who came into our house 4months ago, he and Nukka sorted out that they were pretty much equal footing in the pack coz pysically he can take her, shes very little and hes huge but she is VERY persistant and would keep going back again and again and he put up with her on that and didnt test her. She is also very possesive over her toys and he just takes everything she throws at him there too. Then a month ago she had her second season, first that he had whitnessed, and although he didnt react to her then but since she has finnished he has gotten alot more dominant towards her and really quite rough, he will pin her really hard till she squeals, then he'll let her up and you can tell shes annoyed coz shes always quiet accept when shes annoyed and she really growls and comes back at him as rough as he was with her. So I think its mostly just very vocal playing much rougher than usual in both cases Nukka and Shadow and Blaze and Skyla...? Could be wrong but it seems very similar?
