Grabbing the baby's toy

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

When we first got missy we gave her the run of the house which was a mistake. She used to run straight to the kids play room and grab the first toy she could find then hide under the dining room table. It may be a bit harder for her to do that because she weighs twice as much now, but before we give her more freedom we wanted to ask about ways to address and fix this issue. She is still having a little trouble going outside but we want to try to train her a bit more to teach her to signal us via bark or scratching or belll that she needs to go outside. Its very tiresome having to watch her , our 4 year old, our 13 month old to make sure she isn't sniffing around. She is pretty good with going outside on cue but it would be great to have a method to help her let us know she has to go. Thanks for the help and any suggestions will be appreciated. We will be taking it slow with her as she is still down in the dumps after being spayed and going back to the vet today due to her bad case of diarrhea.

She is still having issues with grabbing toys when we aren't looking. If we see her and tell her to leave it shes pretty good about letting it go, but once she has it in her mouth the chase is on. Do you guys have any ideas of what I could do? We tried the spray but that didn't really work and I don't want to spray the kids toys as my son still put everything in his mouth for some reason.

The toy thing, Boshka was sternly told off when she took my sons toys, she did grow out of it though. Maybe she is attention seeking? as your 4yr old and 13 mth old will take up alot of your time :)

I can't remember how we got to the stage where she tells me she wants to go out, I think it was just natural progression. When she goes to the door I let her out, when she wants to come in she scratches  Maybe give her a treat when she has done her business out side, this may entice her to go out.
