CARRINGTON
Well Cheyenne is now a whopping 10.5 pounds, so .5 pounds over weight for a long hair cat. It isn't too bad but she needs to go on a diet. We usually continuously feed her, as when we first got her she was so starved that just putting a cup in there sent her into hysterics everytime she saw the bottom of the bowl. She would vomit and I mean freak out. So the vet said to continuously feed her even though the usually don't recommend that, but in her case she needed it. Well we have had her for over a year now and thinks it is time for a diet. Any ideas on how to go about doing this? Should we just pour the amount it says on the bag in the bowl or give her more and then wean her down?
Asslinn
One of my cats weigh in at 7kg He is a very big tom.... But he looks like he has just had kittens his belly sags that much lol. He eats so fast and without chewing that he is normally sick. So...How about slowly reducing the amount of food given throughout the day? Or trying to give 3 meals a day going by the suggestions on the bag. If after 5 minutes there is still food down, remove it. Cats we whine and meow for food even when they aren't hungry. Hope this helps even if a little.

She is not active at all. We have tried toys, playing with her, etc. nothing. With the toys she just walks away and when we play with her when she doesn't want to play she nips or scratches. Sarah
that sounds like bella lol have you thought about letting her go out?
CARRINGTON
that sounds like bella lol have you thought about letting her go out? We have accidentally let her out three times and twice she was almost hit by a car and once she was almost eaten by the neighbors dog. She isn't the brightest and doesn't have claws. We have just now noticed some stray cats that we have called animal control for but they look like they may be very sick. Cheyenne has all her vaccines but she's Terrible at defending herself. We also live along a busy Street with a bunch of college kids who go out drinking so it is just time before she is hit and since she was almost hit twice after being out for 2 minutes I don't think her odds are good
Chula
yeah she will probably live longer as a fat cat than she will as an outdoor cat.

CARRINGTON
what about taking her out on a lead? I had never thought about that... We can try that, I am not sure how she will adjust to it since she isn't a kitten
