Photoshop Help please

Recommended Posts

I have Photoshop Elements 9 pre-installed on a new laptop and would like to play with it.

Does anyone know how I can remove all colours except one, (I think it's called colour popping)

I've tried the search facility within the program but no joy, (both English & US spellings of colour)

I was trying to leave just his red collar.

Thanks in advance.

Open the image, create a new layer, paste the same image in the new layer... Change the picture to black and white, then rub out the collar. The red collar will then show though and the rest of the image will be black and white :)

So do you want to remove everything but the collar

or everything else in the image black and white (or shades of grey) except the collar which stays red ??

Alternatively make an accurate selection around the collar and then use the image (tab) and (menu)Hue & saturation tool to remove the colour from the rest of the image.

I've never used Elements just full on Photoshop.

So I don't know what features are available

It took me longer to boot the program than to make the changes. . . .

Is this the sort of thing. . . ??
