ice
shadow has started eating his poo :26: is this normal and if it is then why do dogs do it?
Skillfulmmd
Ah, my German shep use to do this and the vet said that puppy's do it for the nutritions that are in there poo. The best way to stop it is to put something in there poo they wouldn't like like a small chilli.

Lucy
Misha used to do this, she was a rescue and very under nurished when we got her, puppies often do this for the nution that is still left, she grew out of it when she was of a more healthy weight! davidjk
I got told if dogs eat there own poo that you should worm them? weather this is true i dont know but worth a try? your dog should be wormed freguently (follow instructions on box) we do ours every months, advocate form the vets. while we are on the subject of poo. why do dogs roll in fox poo. every dog owner i know has said that their dog will try to roll in it, if they get the chance
keiko mummy
i think they roll in poo to try and hide there scent. its in dogs nature to hide there scent from what there hunting they roll in poo!!! ewwwww

Koda&Zikka
We are having a similar problem but they eat eachothers poo's!!! YUK!!! We were really frustrated because they were both eating fine with a good diet and both wormed! However they are both 1 year now and we have realised they only do it if the poo is of a different 'consistency' to normal! Dog habits are so strange arent they, although saying that dogs probably look at us humans and think we have strange habits! lol....but we dont eat poo!
