Sarah
Hip dysplasia is an inherited abnormality of the hip joint. It is not detectable at birth, but generally becomes apparent throughout the first two years of a dogs life. This disorder affects both male and female dogs at about the same rate of incidence, and the condition can range from mild to severe cases. This health problem can prevent your Siberian Husky from performing the usual functions that it was bred to do, as well as keeping your dog out of the ring if you compete in dog shows. It is very important that you are aware of this potential issue before purchasing your Siberian Husky pup. 87% of all dogs DIE way too early because of the food they are fed. Find out how to STOP this happening to your dog! The good news is that the incidence of hip dysplasia is quite rare among Siberian Huskies. In fact the rate of incidence has actually decreased over the past two decades, since this is a problem that you can have tested before breeding your dog. Since hip dysplasia has a genetic cause, part of your Siberian Husky care should be to inquire of your breeder as to whether there are any incidences of hip dysplasia along either line of your dog. This will give you peace of mind in knowing that there is one less health problem with your Siberian Husky to be concerned about.
