meeshsalts
We bought Talon a back pack, this is in the Three Peaks range at Pets at Home. They were getting rid of them so we got it for £20 instead of £36. The design is great because it is like a Ruff wear one in that the saddle bags come off the harness frame which can stay on the dog. I think this is better than taking off the full pack. This was a clearance line so not sure if your store will still have them. I looked on website and found nothing. Plan to try it out proper this weekend. Put it on Talon and he seems ok with it on. I checked the Ruff Wear website and found they are selling the exact same one for £115.00, yes the exact same one, just with a differant badge. Either Pets at Home is the bargain of the year or Ruff wear are ripping people off. Palisades Pack by Ruff... The ultimate dog back pack. Great for multi day adventures with integrated water bladders. £114.9 I

Staceybob
My girls used a backpack before; she was quite happy with having one =] Just be careful of the amount of weight you put in it. The stupid man that I got mine off of told me to put in about 10-20% of her body weight in it! Which SHWA confirmed was really bad for her. A little bottle of water either side at even weights is best. Stacey xxx
meeshsalts
It is for Talon he is a 48 kilo Malamute and will be able to carry with out noticing it, Two bottles of water, to jars of hotdogs,a towel and poo bags. This is what I carry normally on our longer walks.
vinny1275
We had one of those - it broke on the 2nd outing the point the lead clips onto is made of plastic, not steel, and mickey running against it managed to pull it clean off - luckily he didnt' realise he was actually free, and I managed to catch him.... They were only a new line a little while ago I think, so it's not a good sign that they're already clearing them out! If that clip was steel instead, it would have been fine! Hopefully you 'll have better luck with it - might be worth putting a link line onto his collar as well, just in case? HTH Vince
meeshsalts
The ruff wear one looks to have the same plastic ring. It is easy to put a steel ring in or use the collar which we intend to do. Ruff wear ones are sold all over the world.
Rosemary
What a great find. If you can replace it with a steel ring that will be awesome. We are also thinking of getting one for Ozzy when we hike in the mountains next winter, but the prices here are crazy. I hate being ripped off.
