  1. My friend arranged for a digital drawing of Raya for me for my birthday. She sent a few pictures to the lady who 'drew' Raya.. and here is the result ! I'm so touched and I can't wait to get this framed !!!
  2. Just looking to book now ! All the caravans are saying 'Pets:No'...... is this a new thing?
  3. Hi Emma, At the moment I only have Sudocreme to put on it. It hasn't made any difference and it is starting to look very much NOT like ZRD now, so I'm baffled. Appointment on Tuesday. Hope we get a quick result. xx
  4. The dermatologist only works certain days a week (part time) and I have had this appointment booked since before Christmas. It has got a lot worse since then, although this is what they wanted in order to be able to get good scrapings for tests etc. She doesn't seem troubled by it, but it troubles me as it looks awful and sore
  5. Before Christmas, Raya lost a little bit of hair near her nose and then developed what looked to be a red rash either side of her nose. She also had some eye trouble at the same time so off to the vets we went - antibiotics and anti-inflammatories made it slightly better. We were referred to a specialist - namely an opthamologist for her eyes who say she has very narrow drainage canals which is likely to lead to Glaucoma later in life for her.... , her blood vessels are growing over her cornea also in two places on her right eye - Pannus. The opthamologist thought the nose issues and eye issues point to an auto-immune condition. She asked I complete her treatment and then not give her anything else while we waited for a follow-up appointment with her and a dermatologist (14th Jan) Over Christmas Rayas eye looked to be getting worse so I called the specialist and took her back in earlier than planned. The opthamologist said her problem wasn't as bad as I had thought (thank goodness). but has since given her some ointment for the eye. In the meantime her nose and snout are have developed quick rapidly. It looks awful.. pics attached. A few friends think it is ZRD and I am giving her x3 zinc tablets a day plus I have swapped her kibble to a wheat free one to try and help her (along with her usual chicken, white fish or pork with veg for dinner) Does anyone else think this is RD or something else? Raya has never been 'ill' before and I can't bear the sight of her poorly snout. It is quite upsetting to see - her appointment is on the 14th and I am desperate to get her treated ASAP. I am applying sudocreme to her nose with cottons buds, though she doesn't seem to be bothered by it. She doesn't rub it or lick the area. Any suggestions would be so very grateful. It came on so suddenly.... (I hope the pics don't upset anyone and I assure you her health is my number one priority)
  6. LOL I will surely get onto doing that... yay !!!!
  7. Interesting times ahead

  8. So...I need to find somewhere to move to ! Just me and Raya and I would like to try for Hertfordshire / North London sort of area. Luckily Raya is excellent indoors, doesn't make a noise (except her 'rorring' at me to go outside!), and isn't destructive at all, but I know most landlords and letting agents will probably turn us away at the mere mention of the word 'pet'. I don't really want to give Raya up. I have never had to rent with a pet before by myself and I know it may be tricky to find somewhere....I saw on a dog website about making a 'dog cv' and having the vet down as a reference and offering to pay a higher deposit which I can try to do. I would like to avoid house sharing as much as I possibly can..unless it is with another understanding sibe owner ! It would be useful to have somewhere that is bills included and as close to a train station as possible. I work full time at a University and am currently looking for another job that will give me some more money so I can better support us. Does anyone have suggestions where might be good or have you done this before? Tips /help / advice greatly appreciated... Thank you!!!
  9. Great pics - and you were so very kind to us. Thank you x
