Hello, my female husky is around 16 1/2 years old, still active but been to the vets last week and has a tumor on her mammary glad that has burst. Vets say that she needs to be operated on, but in my opinion she is far too old for an operation. I don't want to let her go but the vets say if she's not operated on she will get sepsis.

Do you think she is too old?

I think this is a decision only you can make  - as only you really know just how fit your dog is  to face such an op.  Whilst your dog is at a really good age  for modern standards  -  she may be one of the dogs that could live until her  mid 20's.   Personally I would not give up on a dog until she/he told me to.
