Prompted by on healthy human food you can give your dog, this is a new thread for dog / human friendly recipies, rather than individual food items.

Peanut butter cookies:

Dog friendly as they don't contain flour...

  • 515 g peanut butter

  • 400 g white sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 9 g baking soda

  • 1 g salt

  • 5 ml vanilla extract (we don't bother with this)

According to the site, this makes 36 cookies - scale the ingredients up / down depending on your needs

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir peanut butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the baking soda, salt, and vanilla. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place them 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets. Press a criss-cross into the top using the back of a fork.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. EAT!

Vince and I read the recipe, realized we didn't have baking soda, said to ourselves.... "Well we can use flour." and decided to just make a batch for ourselves. XD Plan on buying baking soda and making some for the kids too though!

Let me know if you guys like it!

Some might find it is a bit too sweet - peanut butter & sugar - watch those calories!

Maybe make a smaller batch and experiment to your taste?

So we were almost out of peanut butter and ended up replacing it with lemon. LOL They came out really cakey and tasted just like Lemon Bars... so we covered them powdered sugar too. They were amazing.
