Charley
My mom has a 5 month old collie cross pup that is currently teething. Over the past 2 weeks her gums have been bleeding quite a lot around her teeth (cant tell if theyre new or baby teeth). It bleeds when she looses a tooth as obvs there is a hole left in her gum but is it normal for the gum around existing teeth to bleed aswell? She isn't in any pain, hasn't gone off food and is acting completely normal otherwise. We've never had a pup before have always had older rescue dogs so I really dont know what is normal and dont want to waste a visit to the vets if not needed as its not cheap lol. Any advice helpful, thanks x
shadow01
Are the teeth that are bleeding also slightly lose? As this may cause bleeding.

Removed #1
Puppy Teething Symptoms and when to go to the vet link It could be from excessive chewing, trying to rub gums against various things to get some sort of relief...if it doesn't clear up, go to the vet...or at least put in a phone call. When you're getting ready to call the vet make sure you've written down everything you want to ask about...sometimes the techs and phone answering types mean well, but they can quickly steer a conversation based upon the things that they're trained to ask and need the answers for. Writing it down makes sure that you have a list of what you want answered...don't be afraid to stay on the phone until you get all the answers and if a vet check is needed after that you can at least make the appointment knowing that all of your concerns have been documented, and the office is aware of them. I'd also look into getting some puppy teething/chew type toys...they may provide some relief...you can also consider rubbing a q-tip dipped in clove oil on swollen gums...it tastes like garbage, but it really does give some at least temporary relief from the pain
Charley
is it deffinately blood off those teeth - n not the 1s that have come out ? definatley bleeding around the teeth aswell as the holes (washed her mouth out with water and watched to see where it was coming from) Are the teeth that are bleeding also slightly lose? As this may cause bleeding. some are but others aren't, im guessing the loose ones are coming out soon and the sturdy ones are new teeth that have recently come through...
