  1. Yesterday I started mixing kibble with his chicken and rice, he had a full week with firm stools on the chicken but as soon as I mixed the kibble it started to get mushy again... Could it be the high level of protein in the N&D kibble? If not that and the disease itself, I can only think of some kind of intolerance.
  2. Last week my breeder had a big (massive) fight with a couple of jerks on facebook (it was not his fault, he was being offended because of some stupid shit), after that, those guys that were arguing with him started posting a series of mean pictures of his huskies on facebook, saying that he was a crappy breeder and his huskies were not on the breed standart. It was a real mess and a really stupid thing to watch, anyway, with all those comments I got really paranoid, is my puppy in the breed standart or have I been scammed? I don't know if this (pics) will help you judge it but any information would be great. PS: I love my puppy, but i just want to know if my breeder is being wronged or if those jerks were actually telling the truth. I really want to have another husky in the future and this might help me decide from where should I get him And here's a video of his first day in the house.
  3. What about the boys? What are the benefits? I understand that it's way better to spay the females but what about the males?
  4. This afternoon his poo was getting better but now (night) it's worse again...Today is the last day vet gave him to get on his feet, now I'm lost again. I'm taking him tomorrow to another vet for a second opinion, I'm also starting him on the chicken/rice diet after the second vet check-up and Diarretron (breeder's suggestion) I'm really worried about him, he was supposed to be better by now, since he got home he's been sick all the time, despite that he's gaining weight just fine... Any other suggestions? It's so frustating to see him like that, and all this useless treatments are getting really expensive.
  5. So after 2 cycles on Stomorgyl for the Giardia and a lot of probiotic cookies we did a second fecal test and...SURPRISE! Entamoeba sp. It's been stablished that he's getting infect somewhere in my house, first I tought it could be the water that I used to wash his food bowl, but vet said no. So it must be the cat box (forgot to mention the cat, they go along just fine), I moved the cat box to a higher place and took him to the vet again for another treatment. Vet gave him Giardicid (Metronidazol again), 5ml every 12 hours for 5 days, do a 5 day break and start another 5 day cycle. She said he was supposed to get better by tomorrow but there's no sign of improvement (still mushy) I just don't know what to do anymore, should I look for another vet? I haven't tried the chicken/rice diet since he's sick so I don't know if that will really help. Even sick he's gaining weight just fine, he's 3 months and 9kg
  6. Ghost seems to be always hungry, he eats his food like a maniac in 5 seconds and then lurks around for missed kibble around the bowl. I was giving him 200g (60g 3x/day) but he had runny poo again so I started giving around 160g/day (3x), is that enough? My father keeps annoying me saying that I'll starve the poor pup to death, that really pisses me off. Am I feeding enough? I couldn't find any good measures here on the forum, you guys always speak of "cups", I have no idea how much is a cup, we have differente measures in Brazil.
  7. I can't even turn on the shower without Ghost charging into the bathroom (that when he's not trying to swim in his water bowl), I haven't actually bathed him yet but I will, really soon (stinky). I got a coconut shampoo for white fur on the pet store, smells really good but it's kinda expensive.
  8. Don't get fooled, he's a sock eating machine. I haven't tried the leash yet because I read somewhere that the leash breaks the neck fur, don't know if that's relevant or even true tho. I'm sorry to hear that! Is it better now? And how's she doing? He just growls when I pick him up when he's wandering out in the backyard, most of time (if I don't hold him for too long) he will not complain. I wish there was a training class nearby ): Yeah, pinning down doesn't work... I will try that, a calmer voice. Sometimes he will lick my hands after a bad bite but I still haven't figured out what I do to get him on that mood. Most of times he does that when he wants to pee (that's how he tells me he needs to go out, licks my feet, creepy dog) I'll start loading my pockets with bribe treats
  9. Yes, I did chased him a few times and now I regret that, I'll start taking him out only on the leash and see how it goes. He actually responds better to the toy/treat tease to come inside, but after that, if he sees the door open he will charge like a maniac and here goes the chasing again... I'll starting the sit/paw trick after he's inside, sounds like a good idea.
  10. He is 9 weeks now. I actually did the counter-command a few times, I'll try to work it more often. I will also put him on the leash, I think it should give me more control over him. I do the trade with toys, but only works when he's not too interested in what he's chewing. Most of times he just runs away as fast as he can with his tail high, sneaky dog. I couldn't find any training classes nearby, I got hold of a trainer but he said we should start when Ghost is 4 months old with all his shots. Ghost is REALLY stubborn, and this agressive behavior really pisses me off. I had to pick him up ealier and it was the same thing, shaking and trying to bite my hand, I pinned him down and locked him in my room alone, now he's half asleep and growls when I try to touch him, he got mad at me
  11. That's my second topic on that here on the forum. Ghost is getting worse on the bitting issue, now when he's able to get outside, when I try to pick him up to go back inside the house he shakes and tries to get my hand. He sounds angry and growls a lot when we try to move him from someplace he ins't supposed to be, or try to get something from his mouth (that he wasn't supposed to eat) Today he pissed me off really bad when I tried to get him back in the house, picked him up and he started moving like crazy and growling again, I had to pin him down so he would calm down (I really hate doing that) I'm worried I'll not be able to correct him on the bitting and he will turn into a agressive dominant dog. I'm still doing everything right (I think), high pitched sounds when he bites and then walk away, it calms him down a bit but doesn't help a lot. The growling is really bad, he growls to everything, I try not to bother him when he is sleeping so that's not a problem anymore, but when I try to get him inside the house or when I need to move him from somewhere (under the sink) or take something from his mouth (my sock) What should I do?
  12. Thank you! He's doing a lot better now Hoping for a fast recovery for your puppy Mine got contaminated here, other pups on the litter are fine so it must be here. I think someone on my house might have given him sink water on the first days, don't know who tho. His poo is way better formed now, I think he might already be clean, I'll do the extra round on meds anyway, just to be sure. How old is you boy?
  13. Yes, false-negatives can happen due to intermitent cists on the feces, we got lucky Thank you, Ginger! He's doing better, chewing everything that stands in his way Kalah sounds so cool! Portuguese pronunciation is actually pretty close to spanish, if you're used to spanish then portuguese won't be too hard on the ears Stool improved a lot since yesterday vet visit, she said that another round on Stomorgyl (after the 1 week break) should clean all the sneaky bastards out of the poor puppy
  14. The test results came back, it's Giardia (that really surprised me). The vet decided to get him wormed today (was supposed to be in 5 days) and vaccinated (that was for today), he'll stay on Stomorgyl till the end of the week and then do a 7 days break so he can start Stomorgyl again for another week. Now, about how he got it, I still have no idea how that happened. Incubation time could point the infection to the breeder's place, and I can't really blame the guy, Giardia is pretty sneaky. Someone could have given him unclean water when I was not home on his first days on the house. No idea :/ I'll still change his kibble to N&D, starting tomorrow. And here's the little devil chewing my hand.
