BlueWolf
I've been running it since the first pre-release. Worked without any problems here. Maybe try removing the ~.minecraft/bin folder and let it completely redownload all the files? Screenshots have to wait, I'm at school right now The new terrain generation looks GREAT by the way. BlueWolf
Here are a few pics. There are of course many other new things (like towns) but haven't seen many of them and couldn't quickly find a new one either. They're not so much of a use right now. This is a ravine, there just happened to be a abondened mine shaft in it Have only been through them ones in survival mode. They're absolutely horrific, mobs keep spawning everywhere and you get lost extremely quickly. The trick used in caverns where you only place torches on the left won't work here. Random torches are already placed for you. You'll find many things in here, including chests, mini-spider dungeons and webs that will slow you down dramatically  The new world generator is great as well. The biomes are HUGE and it includes a new biome which includes massive mountains! (Ignore my photobombing pet wolf, lol) The sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking as well And the Endermen? They keep teleporting around me before I could hit them! And I JUST discovered that my pet wolves don't even attempt helping me killing it
TreyRust
Oh, now I feel all jealous... I haven't actually run minecraft on this computer beforehand so I knew this would be the case: What version of Java do you have Jos? The one from the repos? BlueWolf
Oh, now I feel all jealous... I haven't actually run minecraft on this computer beforehand so I knew this would be the case: What version of Java do you have Jos? The one from the repos? Not sure. I used to have lots of trouble with both Flash and Java in the past with 64bit so I'm not sure what I'm running right now is directly from the official repos, through a ppa or modified in some kind of way. $ java -version java version "1.6.0_20" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.9) (6b20-1.9.9-0ubuntu1~10.10.2) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)
Also, everyone knows that in order to remove directories with files in it you need to use rm -r! Also 2, apparently there needs to be a slash after the tilde :/ ~/.minecraft/bin
