Thanks. Yah I found LOTS on google, trying to gauge though what is the best for the Husky breed in a cold weather environment..... I also could just put a dog door on the side of my garage that takes him into his own little boxed area in the garage. He wont have a full view of the backyard from here but will definitely keep him out of the environment. Just worried he wouldn't use this if I built it...

Hello all, I want to build my Husky a doghouse this wknd. Winter is coming soon and I need to ensure he has a nice warm place to rest out of the wind. Does anyone have a good dog house plan for Huskies? Or know where I can find a template on line? I have lots of extra 2x4's and plywood sheets left over from some house construction so was hoping to use those. Is a flat top recommended so they can perch? Now I have heard that it should be fairly small so that his body keeps it warm. The only issue with that is that sometimes during the week I look after a 2nd Husky (his brother) for a good chunk of the day so I basically need the house to be big enough for two full-size huskies, but still small enough to keep one warm in it alone... Hello, I do not see any attachment or information in Sarah's first post. Really would like to read about heatstroke. I have a 7month named koda and were in a bit of a heatwave rite now, hit 32C with a humidex of 39C today!
