pritt
Maintenance, Repair and Operation work keeps a business running smoothly. Maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) is one of the costliest functions of facilities management. According to some studies, properly planned and well-kept maintenance services may result in a twenty percent decrease in the operations cost of a business. Maintenance, Repair and Operating (MRO) inventory can represent millions of dollars in investment – yet the vast majority often sits unused year after year. Data cleansing, is the process of amending or removing data in a database that is incorrect, incomplete, improperly formatted, or duplicated. Data can become corrupted or inaccurate due to several reasons. Manufacturing, repair and operations, or MRO Data Cleansing is something which must be tackled on a regular basis, rather than left until things become unmanageable. However tight deadlines are, you must keep data files accurate and up-to-date at all times. Sadly, this is often not the case. Many companies seem to approach data cleansing as they do their spring cleaning – invariably leaving a few cobwebs behind. Quality and clean data helps eliminate costs and improve profits. It requires a well-defined, structured process for MRO data cleansing. Clean structured MRO item descriptions are necessary because, potential duplicate and redundant items can be identified and eliminated. Adding to this structured data is more readily and accurately searched, allowing technicians and purchasing agents to find and/or purchase the right item quickly. With better data, many of the costs could be avoided as the item is found if in stock, or procurement is streamlined if not in stock.
