It looked like a dog park to me and I've been past there for alomst everyday for 10 years and never noticed it before so I don't know if it's new or not! I can't for the life of me find it on google maps but I'll have another look tomorrow. Looks promising though It's at the top of Agecroft Road, Swinton/Pendlebury.
