  1. I have found when a husky is grieving if you adopt another husky they pick up and soldier on more readily and survive rather than giving up xx
  2. I have two reds and they are definitely the more interesting of the husky breeds and the more depth in colour changes I'd say I just love the Reds!!!
  3. My advice would be - be careful, they are always watching and learning how to open your doors and gates -and yes I am speaking from experience of a door push me pull me door and gate opener - a right Houdini!!!
  4. Hey Nick, I am so sorry to hear about your loss of beautiful Sasha, you won't know me on here as I do dip in and out and am more of a reader than a contributor of wisdom. On the 24 January 2016 is the 2nd year anniversary of the passing of my beautiful boy Leon who was a large grey and twin brother of Taiya (who's story you will find in 'lost and found and Leon is on Rainbow bridge'), I was very worried about Tai after the passing of her twin brother and found our other pooch Ollie was not enough for her so after 4 weeks rescued fellow red husky Nanook from a local dog rescue centre - although Ollie and Nooks make a very good couple (both males and apparently gay) he cheered Tai up immensely so have had him nearly2 years this Feb 2016! Taiya is now 12, Nooks is currently 10 nearly and Ollie 9 years - what I am getting at is - don't leave yourself without a guardian husky as there are plenty in rescue centres on death row right now who could use your help - you could help them and they would definitely help you and Sasha would be so proud of you xx
  5. My heart goes out to you - my condolences Run hard, run fast, run free .....
  6. So glad that she is found it made my day - not many get away with a tangle with a train and live to tell the tale XX
  7. Check out the website animalwardens.co.uk they log all the losts and founds for you to look through XX Hope she's found sound - I lost one of mine 5 days once - got her back ok:-)
  8. I feed my 3 raw (including Ollie the Springador) the mince and the chunks and chicken wings - I get this from Jolleys pet store (Ashton-uder-Lyne) as it has more choice that Pets at Home - the make is 'Prize Choice', plus they do the meat blocks too.
  9. Mine eat raw frozen beef chunks and chicken wings for tea (only fed once a day) from Jollies pet store, denta sticks when I leave for work and 2 x Hollings smoked dried sausage after walks daily :-)
  10. I find raw and frozen is les yucky and they enjoy it more - thy are Siberian Huskies after all
  11. OMG! She's gorgeous- I want her!!! You just gotta love the Reds
  12. I'm sorry guy's but I think you're all wrong ! Ha ha ha,get a dog grooming dryer from eBay and blow your troubles away - might take an hour but blow - rake - blow - rake again and then a final blow, youmayhave to repeat after a week or two but it's well worth it - saves me hours of grooming and I have the two huskies plus Ollie well worth the £50.00 I won the bid at lol!
  13. Taiga is a complainer and talks a lot and loudly when she's complaining or wants something - Nookie talks when he wants something - attention food etc ...
