Marianorufffera
Hey guys, I’m looking for some advice my husky just turned one and he has a testicle that still hasn’t descended. The vets here have all encouraged me to neuter him but the surgery will be very invasive as they will have to cut into his abdomen. His temper is amazing and he’s such a good boy. I really don’t want to put him through this. Am I doing the right thing by not neutering him? Any advice would be much appreciated thanks!
BingBlaze n Skyla
Unfortunately the longer you wait the higher the chance that testicle has to become cancerous, it does need removing , if it was going to drop it would have by now , just remember vets do this kind of operation all the time and it's very routine for them
robke
My boy had the same and it will not drop after 1 years old, my vet showed me the testicles once the op was don and the non descending one was not even quarter the size of the normal one ... the chance of testicular cancer it so much more greater if you leave the testicle where it is my dog is now 11 years old and his temper has not changed from when he had the op when he was 1,5 years old... you will kick yourself if he does get the dreaded cancer which could have been prevented.... wolfpup
I must admit I am against neutering for almost any reason - except in cases like this. I must agree with the above - your boy needs this op.
