Nush_88 Posted January 26, 2019 Report Share Posted January 26, 2019 My fur baby jumped out of my arms just before I was able to put him down properly. Must have been from 2ft or so. He landed on his side. Yelped for about 30 seconds. I comforted him till he calmed down. It has been an hour since it happened he seems fine. Playing with his toys, had food. I have just put him down for a nap. Are there any signs I need to look out for? Will he be alright? Does he need to go to the vet? Does he yelp or move away when you run your hands over him? He doesn't seem to be limping and he is sitting and standing normally. He is responding as usual to me. He is his bitey self mostly.I am feeling he might be a little less vocal than normal. 2Huskyfun Posted January 26, 2019 Report Share Posted January 26, 2019 Pay attention to his breathing. It would be like he just ran a mile type breathing but for no reason for it. Watch for coughing. Watch for any soft pockets on the side he landed on. (Around the rib cage) air pockets. Depending on how he landed... you can check eye reflex. (Hard in Huskies because of the way their pupil response works) How old is he again? Watch for stumbling or miss steps. If there has been no signs of any of these during that first hour he is most likely fine. However, watch him for 24 hours and take to the vet if your gut tells you to. If it is full on painting or he is randomly yawning... get him to a vet ASAP. As long as nothing progresses or there is no soft pockets forming. Did he caugh anything up? LOL This was so reassuring.It was his first bath as well today. He must have been reacting to that as well.Gave him a couple of ice cubes. He loves eating ice cubes. The panting has almost stopped.I will keep a close eye on him overnight.
