The one I tried to post was a tad more graphic. Very disturbing to read about vets selling your dead pet to be recycled and used as cheap protein a.k.a BY PRODUCTS to these money hungry corporations.I’m waiting for Autumn to turn 1 before I start a raw diet. So right now I feed her organically. Any suggestions on how to safely start her on a raw diet? Just sad all the way around.But I'll continue feeding my two dry food because I give mine quality blended food...I don't like going the raw route. It's just not for me. Luckily, Purina Smart One wasn't on that big list of products. Here are some articles you may find useful - the first one became my 'bible' after I came across it. I still use this today to ensure I am covering all the bases with regards to nutrition. They don't need everything every day - just make sure they get everything over time (say a week) I work to ensure they get every vitamin and mineral every two days personally - but I am a bit anal about nutrition generally. wolfpup Posted February 18, 2018 Report Share Posted February 18, 2018 There are quite a few raw feeders on the forum so someone will be able to answer any questions you may have - but those articles will give you a fairly good grounding. As I mentioned above I am a little 'anal' about making sure my boys get the best diet I can afford for them. Take yesterday, they had fresh salmon, beef mince, pork chunks, & a raw egg. The salmon I buy frozen - £3 a kilo - full length salmon with the best bits cut off but still lots of flesh as well as the bones - the dogs favourite - or if my local supermarket has an offer on salmon they save me all the off-cuts and I get it for free. Beef mince from my butcher, pork chunks 2" cubes £3 a kilo, around £7 for thee days worth of food for two dogs - I normally spend around £15 a week on food for them if I fed a good quality wet food I would probably spend around £13 for the two. Hubby complains regularly that they get fed better than he does - so I always offer to feed him the same food - but bearing in mind we are vegetarian he declines Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I used to buy meat, poultry, fish, offal, fruit and veg, fish oil etc and make sure I got the balance right and then Dan introduced me to Natural Instinct, I haven’t looked back since. It’s raw food that’s frozen, there’s plenty of choice available and Cai and Luka love it!All I need to do is defrost it. There’s a local pet shop 5 mins away Pets Life Naturally, that offer prepared raw frozen foods.
