How many is too many

I think it all depends on you, your lifestyle, and also the dogs.  For me, I would have stopped at 2, even though I love all 3 of mine and can't imagine not having them.  I don't think I would ever get a 4th one even if I had a bigger house/yard.   With 2 I felt like walks were easy, I could take them both places and it wasn't a big deal.  When I just had the one he was a nightmare and needed a playmate, so the 2nd one was perfect.  When I got the 3rd, I felt more like a referee and walks were much harder.  But then again, that is just me.  I know many people with 4 or more dogs that it worked out great.
