DNA Test ACCU METRICS - WARNING

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

After seeing a few people on the forums get DNA test done I decided to get Mowgli done. From looking at Mowgli I knew he was Husky / Malamute or very very close too.

I decided to use a company which is called ACCU-METRICS as I saw someone hear had done and they were cheap. As I do not trust companies like this I decided to try and trick them and see what they came back with.

This company asked for a photo of your dog to put on the Certificate which instantly put me so I decided to google a picture and use that :) They also asked what breeds you think you dog may have in and I listed Malamute and German Shepard knowing that Mowgli does not have a trace of German Shepard in him. They say you will receive results in 14 days and after not receiving anything after day 21 I decided to call them. They said there had been a delay and I would have the results the following week. Another week passed and still no info so I called them again to complain. They then said they had a computer issue and needed to test the samples again. The following day I received the certificate. They also say on there website that sample only last a maximum of 2 week.

MOWGLI - My Husky Malamute Cross

As I paid for this via Paypal, I got my money back even thought they tried to fight the case.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I heard Embarkvet is the best.. they take a little more time but are more accurate and tell you the history. I'm doing one for Siku' just to see what they say he is purebreed but I want the background on his line through his dad's side. I would try Embarkvet [emoji4]

I recommend anyone who is considering getting this done to NOT send a photo or tell them breed information. Also be aware that many of these companies use ACCU-METRICS

Wow that's bad , I've heard the only decent one is wisdom panel but glad I decided to hold back on doing a test for Skyla

I know someone who did Wisdom panel and Embarkvet she was testing them. She already knew the line from the pedigree and the genetic colors along with traits the dog carries. They where both pretty accurate the only things that where off by a few was the COI and weight of the dog. So it would be worth a try. To either do wisdom panel or Embarkvet. [emoji4]

[emoji33][emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]. Aargh, I used them, the reviews were good and it cost £50, not cheap.
Funny this has come up as I was talking about Luka’s results yesterday with my partner, we both think he’s husky/GSD, it really doesn’t matter what he is as we love him but I think knowing helps to understand some breed trait behaviours......wisdom panel it is.

I often wondered if these services ask for a photo or breed information of the dog! I was semi-contemplating trying one of these because I wanted to find out if there's a bit of something else in Mayo that made her so big, but... maybe it isn't worth it.
