One of my dogs pupil is red and the other is black . Should I worry?

It could be some cut or other causes, but my Ava was just like that. Only her right pupil was red and  we took her to our vet and she thought it might be some scratches and did a couple of tests and found a very tiny white. She called the eye specialist right away and pushed to make a space for Ava on the same day. That's how we found her cataracts. Hope this is not your puppy's case, but red pupil is obviously not right.

Agree that this doesn't sound right.

Under certain lights and on pictures sometimes ICE's pupils will flash red when the light hits it from a certain angle but that's just a trick of the light. In natural daylight they are simply black as they should be.

Thank you! I'll take her to the vet in 21 days . I just took her today to get her shots and I forgot to tell him about the red eye but he checked her completely and he didn't say anything about it . Maybe he didn't see anything with her eyes , but I will check . Thank you so much

In the first picture it's the right eye that's showing red however in the second picture it's the left eye. I take it they're not red all the time then. Just flashing that colour from time to time?
Blue eyed dogs for whatever reason do seem to glow red on their pupils from certain angles from where the light hits . Not just a camera flash but the lighting in the house can do it too. whereas my brown eyed dogs don't do it at all. Well not red anyway.
Definitely worth mentioning to the vet though just to be sure.

It appears to be the refracted light exiting the pupil.

Probably that, but why isn't the other eye red also? I have an appointment at the vet for her other shots so so I'll talk to the vet about it to see if it's something I should worry about
