When I got him, he would always cower when you went to pet his head, and would be very defensive with Nikko and Yukon, getting in several fights. He was also underweight. Now he is a healthy 60lbs, is not only trusting, but confident! He was found roaming the streets of Chicago, shut down completely at the Animal Control, would not eat or anything.
