lynnmw1208
I was just wondering today if anyone ever clips their husky's whiskers or do you just leave them long and wild? lol. I know, random question, but I was looking at Pongo today and his are quite long. I do know for shows and such they do clip them. I thought that would hurt them though like clipping a cat's whiskers... I dunno.

Benno_bro
Never heard it being a problem with dogs. Have heard about cats getting stuck squeezing through small spaces after a trim, not sure if true lol
csavinski
we trim the wiskers on Peyton only because we show him... doing that has no affect on the god it only makes them look cleaner when you groom them for the show.

Lyn
Nope, I leave them well alone, no matter how wild they are. Whiskers are part of their sensory equipment. Wouldn't have thought they should be trimmed for showing either, being a breed that should not be visually altered for showing. We don't show much any more (prefer to put our time and cash into the working side) but think one of the breeds bonuses is that you could quite happily run them in a race one day, then (provided they don't get filthy) give them a quick once-over with the dog brush and parade them round a showring the next day (and people have! )
lynnmw1208
I don't think we'll trim them either I was curious to see if anyone else trimmed ;-)
siberian_wolf
I haven't even thought of trimming the whiskars of any any animal. The whiskars dont cause any problems to them so can't see a reason for them to be trimmed.
SarahNukka&Shadow
Well I've never thought of trimming whiskers accept one of my cats actually had one that went out his face and then all the way back into his head so it was more of a loop than a whisker! So we did cut that so it didnt get caught on anything and hurt him! LOL!
