NOBELHOWLUC49
My poor feral cat Ben has had Bartonella Virus and the anti bodies have caused his eyes to form cataracts notably on the left side. The vet has now said he has glaucoma and is in danger of totally losing his sight in both eyes unless he has immediate medical attention asap. We don't know if he is clear from the virus yet but we can't wait to find out as by the time his results come back it might be to late. I really hope they have an appointment at the eye specialist tomorrow. If he loses his sight he will have to be put to sleep... and even though he is not our cat (he adopted us when his owners moved) we love him. He loves being outside, which means he won't be safe from cars, foxes etc. I know Ben isn't a husky but I hope you will all say a little prayer for him that he pulls through... Jase
Best wishes for Ben, I hope the vets prognosis means that it is treatable. All the best.
NOBELHOWLUC49
I have been to the Vets. Ben has not got Glaucoma, this is good news.... How ever his lenses have detached which is a side affect of the Bartonella virus. This can be treated by removing the lens which sounds worse than it is.... Basically he will be left with really good long sight and poor near sight, but a lot lot better than his vision is now... Bit like me Down side is its bloody expensive.... so we either have him put down or save his sight as best we can..... So and this is why I love my family so much we all immediately start working out how quick we can have the money together and get him back to the best he can be... So Ben My little man... we love you, your family... the day you choose to stay with us you made the best decision of your life because your owners at the end of the day for all they said did not care for you like they should of.... You are now officially our cat and they have no right to claim you as theirs ever again...
